Our History

Ed Cohen has more than 40 years of experience in the pool and spa industry that began as a pool service trainee. He went on to own Ultimate in Pool Care, and his natural curiosity and drive for excellence led him to start a career path that has afforded him to become a nationally recognized expert and instructor in the art and science of leak detection, pool service, and more. All the while, Chaikin Pools, a full-service pool company owned by Kyle Chaikin, was rapidly becoming one of the leading gunite pool builders throughout the New York metropolitan area. 

In 2011, Ed and Kyle merged the two companies, and The Chaikin Ultimate Group was established, creating an instant leader in the highly competitive swimming pool business arena. Kyle Chaikin and Ed Cohen aren’t just leaders of a highly successful company; they’re leaders with unparalleled dedication toward raising the professionalism of the entire swimming pool industry. 

The Chaikin Ultimate Group grew again in 2021 with the acquisition of the Hamptons-based Spring & Summer Activities, a swimming pool construction and service company with its own rich 40-year history. This acquisition allowed for seamless operation throughout Long Island, offering unique advantages to our clients regardless of location.
